PARENT COMMITTEES

 

The following committees are available for parental involvement at any time during the year.


Parent Connections Team

Responsibilities:

·     Organize and coordinate social gatherings throughout the year, including:

Back-to-School Night, Grandparents Day,/files/WCA/teach.jpg

Parent-Child Outings, Open Houses,

Parent Social, Skating Party,

Donut Dash, Family Fun Night

·      Organize and coordinate teacher and resource aid, including:

Ø      Kindergarten assistance—preparation of classroom materials, laminating, etc.

Ø      Tutoring, as needed

Ø      Generally volunteer time for grades 1-6

Ø      Art teacher aides

 

 

Room Moms

Responsibilities:

·        Coordinate mothers of each class to provide holiday parties

·      Make sure special needs are addressed, coordinated or delegated (births, hospitalizations, bereavements, etc.)

 

 

Moms-In-Touch

Responsibilities:

·         Hold weekly prayer meetings

·         Words and Deeds” (providing Westminster staff with notes and signs of encouragement)

·         Coordinate 2-hour prayer chain

Pray-on-the-Way is a monthly prayer group available for Westminster Dads.

 

 

Yearbook

Responsibilities:

·    Take candid photographs at school and various events for yearbook and publicity use

·     Assist in preparing yearbook pages for printing

 

 

Auction/Fundraising Committee

Responsibilities:

·     Organize, coordinate and solicit donations for Fall Auction fundraiser

·     Coordinate other fundraising events that may be planned throughout the school year

 

 

Literary Guild

Responsibilities:

·      Maintain current library holdings

·      Purchase and catalog new books

·         Review and catalog donations

 

 

Facilities Committee

Responsibilities:

·       Oversee summer classroom preparation

·       Attend scheduled workdays

·       Volunteer regular time for miscellaneous handyman projects

 

 

Technology Committee 

Responsibilities: 

To maintain the school’s present computers and printers and regularly change security codes for school buildings.

 

 

Community Service Committee

Responsibilities: 

To organize projects for Junior High and school-wide community involvement

Past projects include:

·        Gathering items for military personnel 

·        Collecting baby needs for low income mothers

·          Food drive for Salvation Army

·        Toy drive for underprivileged children

·            Food drive for diabetic center
